D’Appia à Chéreau, la lumière comme élément expressif

Lucio Silla, opera seria de Lorenzo da Ponte et W.A. Mozart, direction musicale de Sylvain Cambreling, mise en scène de Patrice Chéreau, scénographie de Richard Peduzzi, assisté de Denis Fruchaud, lumières de Daniel Delannoy et Jean-Luc Chanonat, a été monté au théâtre des Amandiers, Nanterre, en 1984.
Appliquant la méthode de l’analyse par segmentation et par fronts de découverte en usage dans la musicologie, on mettra en parallèle les formes temporelles du drame (actes, scènes), de la musique (arias, chœurs, mais aussi ambitus, tonalités), de la lumière et des murs (grâce à un document de travail inédit : la régie murs).

 From Appia to Chéreau, light as an expressive material

Lucio Silla, an opera seria by Lorenzo da Ponte and W.A. Mozart, was presented in Nanterre in 1984 under the musical direction of Sylvain Cambreling and the direction of Patrice Chéreau, with Richard Peduzzi, Daniel Delannoy and Jean-Luc Chanonat. The formal analysis will show the parallel dynamics of evolution as regards the plot, the chord progression, the vocal register, the lightning, and eventually the famous movement of the walls. This parallels do not move at the same speed and contribute to a dramatic intricacy of signs.
